What it is

Webbs calls this the sixth year of The Enchanted Gardens. The trail takes the story of Mowgli through themed zones built from theatrical sets, lanterns, projections and sound: the Palace of Oodeypore, the Seeonee hills, Council Rock, Baloo’s school, Kaa’s lair, the Lost City, an Indian village and a buffalo stampede. Until 28 December there is also a stop at Santa’s snow-covered workshop and house for photographs. (Webbs, The Enchanted Gardens)

Quieter sessions and access

  • Half-capacity, lower-volume sessions for children or adults with special educational needs: Wednesday 25 November and Thursday 10 December, 4.30pm to 5pm entry, booked by phone. Webbs says there are no flashing lights on the trail this year, and that weekday evenings later on are otherwise the quietest.
  • Paths: much of the route is now bonded gravel, but one stretch towards Santa’s cabin and the woodland are still loose gravel. Free all-terrain wheelchairs can be booked.
  • Toilets are on the hardstanding car park in front of the trail, not on the route itself.

Food is served at the Enchanted Gardens Festive Fayre in front of the trail and in the store’s indoor Winter Food Market. Wear warm, waterproof clothes and flat shoes with grip; the trail is outdoors on uneven ground.

Opening times

Webbs has not published the trail’s nightly opening and last entry times on its event page. Its quieter sessions start at 4.30pm, and the store itself opens 9am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday before Christmas. Your booked time slot is your entry time.
